I got on the water last night and wanted to give you all an update. > The seats are very comfortable and the base is very sturdy. > I was looking to fish shallow so it was better to stand up and they seemed to be in the way. I finally angled them back which gave me a lot more room but wish I had my butt seat. I will look into adding a shorter post to my butt seat to use in those circumstances or will just swap them out which won't be too difficult. > My boat deck is wide enough to step around the outside of the chair but it still seems that you're a "aw shoot" away from taking a dip. > I passed through the seats a couple of times but it is a pretty big step to clear the post. Once I get the other piece installed, this option will be out. > Safest way to get to the bow is to sit in the chair and then spin 180 degrees. Not an issue with my boat with the extra space and I have a low gunnel but I can see where that would be tough if you're cramped for space or have a high gunnel. > They block my rod lockers so I have to get out the rods I want to fish with before I get them all set up or else I have to push them forward to get other rods out. > They block your vision when running so be extra diligent for other boats or hazards. > They add a lot of wind noise when you run hard. At 60, they were humming pretty good. Summary - They are a well built system and are very comfortable and with a bad back that sometimes flares up on me, I will appreciate being able to sit while I fish. They will take some time to get used to and there will be times that they will be in the way and more of a hindrance then help. Fishing all day on timber or bridges where you need to be more mobile, I think I would rather stick with my butt seat. Fishing brush piles where you are not needing to move around a lot or if you're spider rigging - they will be worth their weight in gold. If you want to get a set, give David with Shut Up and Fish a call. Best price I found.

GREAT looking setup! On a side note, looks like you & Dave will be able to hold hands while fishing now.

Can eat out the same bag of Cheetos now!!! I have them for winter but doubt they get used much outside that! I need to sell the old base I have and get one with a pin that fits a Ranger!

That's a heck of a pro and con report Ron. One thing I found that works good for me is to use only the left seat when fishing solo. By moving it over to the side I can get a clear view when running a lake. I fish solo a lot so the one seat in the center isn't too bad for viewing upfront but when I do use this contraption, it does make visibility markedly better when using this single seat setup and moving it to the side.
Like Slew, I mainly use it for late Fall and Winter time. And when the gkids come in the summer. It's great for the Corps BPs on Roberts.

We bought ours for mostly brushpile fishing. Ours does not block the rod lockers. When spawn fishing the banks we will not use them, Nor when timber fishing. We will just move them to the back deck and use the 2 butt seats. One up front and one at the rear of the front deck. Thanks for the report Ron. By the way we have to 180 spin or take a dip with my old clumsy self.

Good report I dont use them since my setup on the Xpress is different. I have 3 bases on my front deck. This allows me to fish left, center or right, or doubles, or any combination. We have plenty of room, but still have to turn 180 to move to the back. This will become habit before you know it. I dont even think about it anymore. We use the center space for the minnow bucket

Nitro, i would think visibility will be a problem from such a low driving position. My suggestion is to add a secondary driving position like on this boat.

You could buckle him to a liftsaver mount!!! Better yet, I will have one of those quick detach brackets sewed onto a pair of britches. No straps needed that way.
