Going to try Choke Canyon tomorrow morning for some Crappie. Wanted to get some guidance as I've never fished it before. I'm planning on launching from 99 Bridge ramp, from Google maps looks like a TON of trees and I'm sure submerged stumps. Not asking for coordinates just a little nudge in the right direction.

I would try shoreline cover with jigs or live minnows, in various parts of the lake, until I hit Pay dirt. You can find crappie actively spawning in that lake from February to early May, as water warms up unevenly.

What's the water depth around the ramp and in the river? Guess I'll find out definitively tomorrow but wondered if anyone knew?

Average depth in river channel is 12to 17ft and about 7 ft around the stumps. We caught them inbetween the stumps and the bank with the steeper banks holding the most fish. There are submerged stumps upriver in the channel but were marked wth jugs but thats not to say there are some that aren't marked. I think you'll have to watch more for other boats than stumps. It was a circus when i was there 2 weeks ago. Hope this helps b safe and post a report. Oh and to the tff

Didn't know the public ramp was a pay ramp. So, that messed me up yesterday ad I typically don't carry cash, had to go locate an ATM...smh. So, that cost me over an hour in driving around for an ATM. On the water at about 9:30 a.m., a fish here and there off of trees and stumps and bridge pilings. Ended up with only 6 keepers. Better than a poke in the eye, fish are slow but good strong thump...quite a few small fish caught. Blue and white jigs were the goto color that they wanted. 12 fow and the fish were at around 6 fow.
