when two old codgers ( me and Max ) hit the water about 2 pm Friday afternoon stumble around, half lost, …………… chasing the mythical warm water and then find some ……………. Drop a jig shallow …………. and thump, thump, thump, ……………………….. and then more thumps Don’t know what I was thinking, ………………. But it turned out to be more than wishful thinking Anyway, I’ll keep trying to figure this out But in the mean time, I remembered the chicken and dumplings would be ready about 6 so we headed For the ramp about 5:40 with 41 in the box and another 10 we threw back that I didn’t want to clean. Wish y’all could have been here for the chicken and dumplings, they were delicious. By the way, I wouldn’t wait any longer for trees or flowers or other stuff to bloom, But I did see the dogwood by the church blooming this morning

Did Max bring any Bologna sandwhiches? No bologna sandwiches this time but we probably need to get some. Of those 41, four were females and one had runny eggs like your pic Kirk. Some males were just beginning to turn black. We were scouting just for grins and caught those fish in three different areas. We caught some small males in water that was maybe 10" deep. Water temp 57.8 - 62.2 and we caught plenty of fish in 58 degree water. Sure is fun.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
