Had 2 trips Friday on Ray Roberts chasing crappie. That morning I had Eric and his dad who was in town from California out. They had never been crappie fishing before. They caught on fast and boated a lot of crappie. They finished with a nice little mess of keepers and had a few really big crappie. Eric caught a giant 6:04 lbs largemouth on a crappie jig. That was a battle he won't soon forget. That afternoon I had David out and the bite had really died. We ran all over the lake and tried a lot of different areas. Finally got him on some fish on a brush pile in 30 ft of water on minnows. He finished with a good mess of keepers and a pair of solid pigs. Beautiful day to be on the water and it seemed the crappie may be starting to move for the fall finally. I still have some spots open over the next few weeks.
