Bought an Accurite Digital freezer alarm online for $24.00. Have way too many crappie in the freezer to worry about a malfunction. Set it up on 2 older freezers in the garage (comes with 2 sensors) with a digital readout panel with alarm in the kitchen. Works as advertised. https://www.walmart.com/ip/THERM-REFRIDGE-FREEZER-WIRELS/35391509

After the second time my old busted upright freezer door popped open (and we lost everything), I installed a heavy duty locking latch. The kind you can put a lock on, like for a fence gate. It hasn't popped open since, and cost about $5. Happy I tried it.
Yes, Brazos is my real name.
