Wanting to put down scan and sonar on my xi5, what transducer do i need for the lowrance hds 10 gen 2? Does the original puck that came with the unit do both or only sonar? Thanks Junior

I believe in order to have Down and Sidescan you need the LSS2 transducer. The one that came with the unit I believe is Sonar only.

Adaptor cables (not included) are available for compatibility with most leading sonar brands, including Humminbird®, Garmin®, and Vexilar®. Lowrance HDI transducer will work with a TOUCH Gen 2 . For a non-touch gen 2 you will have to put the sidescan transducer on with the LSS box.

2D Sonar only with the original transducer. You have 2 options
add a sidescan module and transducer - LSS2
purchase a newer Gen 2 or 3 touch unit and an HDI transducer.
With some of the sales ongoing for Gen2 touch units pricing may be very comparable to adding the module and transducer.
