Taking my dad out for the first time in a long time, I've only fished each of these lakes once so I'm looking for any advice to get my dad on the fish but mostly which lake would you go to if you only had half a day and you wanted to show someone a good time thanks!

I dont fish Lavon so I am bias. Going with Roberts. Send me a PM if you're not familiar with it. I know a spot or two.

I would pick Lavon. Look for wood in 10-20ft of wood and start a foot from the bottom and work your way up until you find the fish. If you don't get bit in 5 minutes move to another tree.
