Hybrids have slowed down a bit for me lately and I have some clients coming in after the storms move out so I figured I'd try out the crappie.
Have heard a lot about the twin bridges but without knowing where to start over there, I kind of cheated and just picked out a few of the crappie condos on the COE lake map.
Report:
Numbers: Caught my limit plus some (threw them all back) Location: Best spots were condos off of rocky banks Depth: 17 to 22 FOW Wind: 7 - 10 mph NNW Lure: 1/4 oz road runner spinner with orange/white jig and pink Magic Bait crappie bites Fish Size: Averaged 11.5" had a few over 12.5 and a few under 10
Findings: Non aggressive, very timid bite. Casting out past the condo and retrieving back to the boat as slow as possible provided the best results. Verticals jigging provided minimal strikes and a regular jig head without the spinner provided no strikes at all.
Best of luck to everybody out there and if you ever see me catching fish feel free to pull up and get in on the action. I've got a White Sea Swirl Striper center console.
