Finally Waco is open. Wife and I went out Saturday afternoon and caught about 30 but only kept enough for a good meal. Sunday the wind kept us off brushpiles but we still managed 19 in the boat with 13 making it home with us for a grease bath. These fish are thick and healthy. 3 on Sunday were well over 14". 5 were over 13". All the fish gave us some really nice thick fillets. There are some slabs to be caught on Waco right now.

Nice report, I believe I saw you Sunday morning. I had similar results. Only fished 2 piles, brought home 9 and threw twice that many back. Probably could have kept more but if they needed to be measured they got lucky and got to live another day. Of the 9 I kept, 2 were over 14" and the rest around 11-12".

I'm glad you got into them as well. Next time give me a shout if ya see us. Love to meet new folks. I am in aww at the size of the crappie right now. The only time they are this healthy and thick on Waco is during the spawn. I just wish this was the norm every year.
