Is it normal during the post spawn to catch mostly juvenile fish and lots of them? I'm hitting brush in 20 fow, some timber, and docks over 25 fow and each of them have tons of fish....just tiny ones. Caught 41 today with only 2 keepers.

That seems to be the story everywhere. There was a good spawn last year so there are more dinks than normal. I think as it gets hotter it will push the bigger fish to their summer spots.

Typical early May pattern. Most of the shad are still in 3-8 FOW. Some still spawning. That's where most of the fish are roaming right now. Try fishing in 12 ft or less and see what you find.

We put 20 nice crappie in the boat this past Saturday on AGC in 10-14 FOW.

Nice congrats!!! I was headed to the lake Saturday morning but I turned around due to the wind. Were you fishing the old or new lake? I fished the old on Sunday which resulted in the dink fest.

Lastly 2 fishing trips I have also caught 10 shorts to 1 keeper. Most of the keepers are only about 11 inches. But the green trash fish have been 2-3 lbs. 2 broke my 6lb test line before I could get them out from under the docks last evening. Those same spots will produce larger fish with some time.
