Friday and Saturday were two beautiful days to be on the water. Sunny skies and about 5 mph winds on both days. I guess the fish were out on picnics because I could not get any action going. Caught about 10 small throwbacks each day. I fished various depths - COE piles, submerged trees, brush piles, and flooded areas of shorelines. Used tube jigs of various colors.

Ray Roberts is my primary fishing lake and I have never seen it as crowded as it was Saturday. Several big bass tournaments plus the normal boat traffic for a nice spring Saturday made for some busy boat ramps. Jordan Park was so crowded that there was no parking left and people were parking quite a distance from the ramp along the road.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

I stayed away from the lakes on weekend especially summer is approaching. I try to fish on weekdays only. More peaceful and less boat traffic.

We had about the same luck. Fished my reliable spots and nada. we did catch a couple dinks but not much else. Fished 20 feet all the way to the bank. I should have fished the bass tournament though, I bet I could have placed. Caught some really nice ones on a 1/16" jig and 4 pound test.

Crappie were slow Friday. Had lots of small fish. Hate full moon fishing. Best bite was afternoon. Hate weekend fishing too. I booked sandbass customers Saturday. But stayed away from Jordan for sure. Crappie fishing should pick up next two weeks. Hopefully this full moon got most of the spawn out of the way!!

We fished Friday and Saturday in the slip at RR and ended up with 30 nice ones. The bit was right on top 2'-5' deep. Minnows and jigs.

Ray Roberts was my home lake growing up. We always fished at night during the summer to avoid all the boat traffic. Hear in another few weeks the crappie should be stacked up in the trees along the creek channel to the east/north east of wolf island.
