My sister just gave me some land in Athens. It is just a couple of streets from the lake. Just need to know if there is any good crappie fishing in that lake. i know they have bass. All answers are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Loaded with them, mostly black where are these crappie you speak of? Brush piles, boat docks or weeds? I've only bass fished there a couple of times, never really thought about crappie there

Bass fishing is excellent and crappie are hit or miss. Lake gets a lot of pressure now from bass fishing. If I were you, sink some brush.

If I were only a couple of streets away I would find "some" crappie. Good luck. Get on the water and fish

I am taking a trip out there this Saturday to look at the lot. I guess I will do some bank fishing for that day if they are only 6' feet. Minnows or jigs? Thank you for that great tip.
