This is the seasonal pattern that I am seeing on the area lakes that I have been fishing. Your lake may be a little different.
As the days get shorter some of the fish start migrating toward deeper waters. If you have been fishing on the upper 1/3 of the lake, you may want to start looking further south towards the mid lake areas. This is what the fish do every year and it took me several years to figure out their movements and seasonal patterns and currently they are moving towards deeper waters.
Belinda with Thermocline Lures,
said if you want to catch big fish you got to use a 1/16 oz. jig head with this Pearl Ice Jig. While the fish are still in their non active funk, I got to say Belinda's Hot Tip is still holding true again this week.
It was tuff getting the fish to bite today. I would only catch 1 or 2 off of a wad of fish, then you might as well pick up and move. Around noon, the fish kinda went on a dive, they dropped 8 or 9 feet in depth from where I was catching them, just like someone threw a switch and down they went and stayed at the 24 to 26 feet depth the rest of the afternoon. Crazy darn crappie!!!
Anyways that about it, now for the picture show.
Cleaned 18.
