I'm having trouble dialing in my ll99. I can find brush piles but am having a hard time determining if they have fish on them. Can someone share the best settings that will allow me to find fish on brush piles and bridge piles?
I've herd Slade is great at dialing in electronics but I don't want to trailer my boat to him.

If you must "see" if there are feesh on a pile before feeshn it once you located the pile use your 2D with feeshID on & it will show you.... Usually if you have a good pile it will always hold feesh so dropping your jig down there will confirm....SU&F posted some good starting settings.....

use dual beam for your 2d and tweak the seperate 83 khx setting which is kind of hidden in a different menu.. ping speed and chart speed are linked on humminbird. I pay no attention whatsoever to boat speed when setting chart speed. I run a little higher than most and get more detailed returns,. DI.. start at 16 and go stronger as needed. you can get a dedicated DI transducer and a switchbox from humminbird, and toggle between the dedicated DI transducer, and your SI transducer . Amber 2 for screen color makes the fish pop out. SI beams set to around 48 feet unless you absolutely need more/ in areas with alot of indulations , use your FULL 2 d screen. SI cant turn corners, that is the "shadow you see" its a void that the beam cannot see. SI is best for flatter areas. contrast is very important when tweaking the screen. you can do a mark screen, which stops the screen and freezes it, make setting adjustments until the picture is clear, then you will have a good setting. Dont run your di beams setting much deeper than needed. if u get interference contact humminbird for a free ceramic ring, that is installed in the wiring. It is not the built in choke thats on the power wire. it is a special , seperate part. and last but not least, get familiar with your unit, and learn to tweak settings on the fly. there are no one size fits all settings for all lakes, all conditions, ect. If there were, humminbird would have put them out. If you have no interest in learning and getting familiar with the units, it might be best to get a more basic unit.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
