I have gone out several times and while I enjoy catching massive sand bass one after another only catching 2 or 3 crappie a night is kind of annoying. I know I can catch them during the day but I much prefer the light breezy cooler nights. I have been fishing under the bridge and I have millions of bait fish all around. I have tried jigs sand bass I have tried minnows sand bass. I have even caught ghost minnows and shad with a dip net sand bass. I have tried all different depths as well seems the crappie are just mixed in with the schooling sand bass and they are just faster to my baits. I can jig during the day and catch crappie that isn't the problem I just really enjoy night fishing but also enjoy eating crappie. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

When I was much younger my dad and I used to fish under the bridges at night and catch a lot of quality crappie. Now it seems the sand bass numbers are just out of control.

Try fishing without lights and keep moving.

They need to take any and all size and limit restrictions off sand bass.

They are about as detrimental to a lake as Bobo is to the USA!!

Maybe limit restrictions but size wouldn't matter at all. I've only caught maybe 10 sand bass under 10 inches at night in my last 5+ trips. I don't even keep them really unless they are over 13, because I can get a limit doing that.

I've never done this either, but I want to start fishing at night at the bridges to catch some eating fish.

anyone want to share a good bridge location?

I suspect they are all good; just pick the one closest to your favorite ramp.
