After reading all of your places Steve I had to add mt thoughts.
1. If heading west on 67 stop in Cleburne east off square and have a burger,can't think of name but can drive toit.
.going West pass on by a place on southnside named after a animal on longer on earth and move on to The Ranch House or Hammonds. If going to Proctor stop at the Steakhouse with the Texas flag painted on its roof or take a right and go a half mile to the best ribs in Texas. Six miles or so out of Glen Rose,Grannies cooking down off the square in Glen Rose is a mighty good buffet
Going thru Granbury the pasta at Joes is good and the Firehouse serve you well and the waitress is friendly and worth looking at. The Mexican place on 51 going north is a good lunch stop also.
Weatherford has a good stop on the N.E. corner of the square for Breakfast and west of the square you can find a good burger. The truck stop on the interstate will fill you up at breakfast(Iron Skillet)
A Fishermans cafe is aplace where you feel comfortable eating with you hat on.
Also Least Heat Moon the author of "follow the Blue Highway" rater his favorite place by the number of calenders by the cash register.
