Vivint door to door salesman. Get at LEAST 2 a week sometimes more. This week I told him straight up not interested and the dude reached for my door when I was closing it and I about stepped out the door with him. I have a new born and dogs that bark at the door, have a sign up that says no soliciting, and that there is a baby sleeping please do not ring the door bell... Think if I answer the next one with a gun that they would get the point? Its never the same person either, how many friggin door to door guys does vivint employ??

Rant over, thanks for listening.

Call Headquarters. Call police. A no soliciting sign means just that.

They can be a pain but sometimes I have fun with them. I work from home most days. I'll let them go into their spiel but it usually doesn't take too long for:
I am not the home owner, my wife owns the house.
My wife isn't home.
My wife is an Attorney.
Have a nice day.

Fill up a cauldron full of boiling oil and place it over the front door on a pivoting axes. Then tie one end of a rope to the handle of the cauldron and run the other end to the armrest on the couch. When they knock on the door pull the end of the rope that is on the armrest and that should solve your problems.

*One note as to usage, you must refill the cauldron with fresh boiling oil after each use.

One big giant hole in your idea, how would the water stay boiling? Is it on a electric stove of some sort? I wanna make sure I get this correct.

But then he would have to put them on. Why do extra work to answer the door?

Modify a propane cook ring to work on natural gas and run a gas line to where you are going to put the cauldron.

Oil, not water...oil sticks better. Run a natural gas pipe line to a stove type distributor and mount it under the cauldron. That will supply the constant heat needed to keep the oil boiling. Then have a separate T fitting on the gas supply line to run it off a refillable propane tank in case the main gas line fails for any reason.

Mine is solar, a more green approach to dumping oil.

I'm sure you could hire a couple of OTers to answer your door like this:

Great minds think alike! Looks like you have had this ingenious idea too.
