My baby brother is celebrating his 22nd birthday in rehab. The sad part, he spent his 21st in rehab also.

Sigh

This is the mckinney Dr that prescribed everyone in my family lots and lots of pills. I never went to him myself, but the things I know he did are terrible.

It usually takes several attempts to begin to overcome it. Hang in!

So many loop holes for those doctors. So many still around. We have some here in our town. Tyler has your diet doctor giving out legal meth....people flock to him from all over.

I wish my office chairs were as addicting. I might be richer too!

Really sorry to hear that Brian. There's not much you can do about it. Your brother has to really want to stay clean and if he ever gets to that point God can help him do it. AA/NA has been a really big help to an awful lot of people coming out of rehab. I believe their success rate is quite a bit higher than rehab alone for a lot of people.

At least he is young. He still has time to change.

One of my best buds is a well-established ER doctor, and I respect him and his profession very much.

There is a reason it's call the "medical" field, and not the "healing" field.

Doctors are taught to cut, prescribe and explore, not always heal. Sure, they are there to help and fix patients, but from what I know, what I've discussed with other logical-thinking adults, they band-aid a lot of problems, but not find the core root of it and fix.

Tons'o doctors prescribe pills, and most America, probably the world, is addicted to pills. I don't even ask women I meet what's in their purses. I don't want to know.

I am not knocking the "medical field, or doctors." Bless them, truly, I just think/know, that pills are prescribed way too much.

I have a couple family members that went to rehab, one has been twice. It's unbelievable the amount of damage they can do to family and friends. Hopefully he gets the help he needs.

Wish you were closer, I'd sell you one!

If you want help finding a chair, I'd be glad to help point you in the right direction. PM me if you want.

I hate to hear that. Went through it with my stepson. I hate to be brutally honest but there is nothing you can do...he has to be the one who wants to change. We beat ourselves up for years.

Sorry to hear Brian. Son in laws brother was a doper, pot led to harder stuff. OD'd several times, prison stint for robbery, then od'd and died fell off a toilet Elvis style. Son in law is complete opposite, good solid man, straight, won't touch dope. Go figure.

After watching two of my cousins, I'm sorry to say I don't have any answers. One turned his life around after 20 years. The other, is back on booze and weed after about a year sober. At least he's not doing the hard stuff like he was...been a drug user for almost 40 years now.

Mr. Spagnola,
Is your brother addicted to drugs, weed, alcohol, whatever, the usual stuff, or is it "prescription drugs?"

If it's prescriptions, then yes, the doctors should be wiser about distributing so freely with a stroke of a pen.

You'd think they'd be aware of the signs that a patient is addicted to prescriptions drugs.

The patient can become an addict simply by following doctor's orders

Mo customers coming in = mo money

These addicts know which doctor to see....word gets around.

Started out with xanax. Now it's xanax, heroine, and adderol. Apparently you take the adderol to go up, and the heroine to come down. And then the xanax helps you sleep all day so you can do it again tomorrow.
