I'm going to get a new gas stove for the kitchen island next week and need someone to install it. I need a recommendation for someone who is reasonable, experienced and does good work. Any help is appreciated.

go up to Home Depo or Lowe's and ask who they have licensed to install theirs and give them a call if a TFF'r doesn't step up... to me gas is not something to play with...

if your house is already plumbed for gas it isn't hard to connect a stove, if it ain't, you gonna need a plumber

Yes, it's plumbed for gas. I'k replacing a gas stove top.

If it's the same size cooktop then install should be less than an hour job. I'm including removing the old one, unpackaging the new one, and running silicone around the outside in that estimate.

If it is the same size, it is easy. There are usually some clips under or on the side of the cook top holding it down which will need to be detached. Turn the gas off, unhook the gas line, and unplug electrical cord. Lift it out and check the connection for the gas line on the new top to see if it needs an adapter, which can be removed from the old one. Use some pipe dope on all gas connections (the kind for gas connections that comes in a yellow tube). Place the new top in the hole connect gas line, plug in, and install retainer clips. I usually don't put silicon around them unless for some reason it doesn't mesh with the counter top well.
Should have instructions that come with it. Like most of us, you might want to wait and read them after you are through-shows self confidence.
