Hey guys,

Just a heads up that www.evolution-outdoors.com is offering the Predator PDLs this week for $2379, free shipping and no tax. That is a great deal if you are looking for a pedal drive kayak, these are normally $2800. They have a few more in stock.

I just bought mine which is my first kayak and I'm super stoked! Hope to get to fish with some of yall soon.

Kyle

I'd be concerned that they're selling a 2nd quality (aka Blem/Demo), even though on their website they list 2nd quality yaks separately. It just seems suspicious they're 1st & 2nd quality kayaks are priced the same. I could be wrong, and you scored a good deal, but I would check your MSO when you receive the kayak whether you purchased a 1st or 2nd quality kayak.

I hear ya Neumie, I verified these are new units before I ordered. REI and Austin Kayak are offering them at the same price this week. It's some sort of discount period that Old Town is allowing their retailers to publicly offer them at a reduced price, at least that is the explanation I got.

That was my preference but no one local had them that cheap. I saved 600 bucks and don't feel bad at all about it.

I just posted this trying to help people save some money that might be in the market.

I bought one from REI online. They had the same deal (AND STILL DO, all kayaks are 15% off) and they were going fast. I wanted red and by the time I got it, I was "stuck" with green (will be here on wednesday). Yep,I'll take that. I'd love to buy local but I trust REI since they will take anything back if you are not happy, and as implied above they don't sell anything but legit merch. I saw the deal from evolution and chose REI due to their reputation. And the $400+ I save from buying from REI, will get spent hard core at Mariner and Anglers to trick my new kayak out.

Nice JD! Green is actually what I wanted but they were sold out when I ordered. I just took mine out today for the first time and had a blast. Hope you enjoy yours just as much.

Thanks for the heads up, Kyle! Got mine ordered from these guys and should be here this coming week. I had called a local outfitter, well as close as possible, and got read the riot act! I was told Old Town sets the prices and couldn't be sold less than what they said. He said that if I knew of other places selling them for less, to let him know so he could report them to Old Town. Then he went on to shyte on my Pelican Catch 120 NXT. HAHA! It was an interesting conversation to say the least. I ordered the black cherry model. Again, thanks for the heads up!

Pedro

This is the truth. Not sure if its possible in this situation but Mariner Sails will price match usually no reason to order online if they will. And the biggest difference is customer service if you have something wrong with the kayak or need some help you can take it back to Mariner and they can help you. But buy it online and you have to take what you get or deal with shipping it back and waiting. Just my 2cents
I would rather deal local on a purchase that big and have that support. Besides Aris is a great guy and supports so much in the kayak scene including the tournaments.
