I sure somebody here knows the answer but I haven't found a store clerk that can explain it.

What does this term actually mean. I am searching for a pfd and they all say: 16.5, 15.5, 16.12
pounds of floatation or buoyancy. Inquiring minds want to know.

Most of the inflatables will have from 22-33 lbs. of buoyancy.
