I go over the Brazos on I-20 on the way to my hunting lease and have always wondered if there's a good spot nearby to fish with a kayak or float tube. It looks like there is easy river access right there at the bridge, but it also looks pretty shallow most of the time. Has anyone fished this area?

I have, however it was a few years ago. I wasn't overly impressed. I had my 2 kids along. I was charged $7 for each of us. River was very shallow. Fishing was just ok, mostly small largemouth and spotted bass.

I never have, but I've wondered the same thing.
