I like the Cabela's brand, you can get them too long then they cover your ankles when you are sitting in the kayak.

I use the Gander Mountain brand and they work great! Not hot. It's just like you have shade over theme! I've looked at all the brands and the all seam to be about the same other than price!

I use these from Amazon for $27 and they were fantastic in the blazing heat.

Royal Robbins they're pretty expensive, but you can find them on clearance a lot of times. Most comfortable lightweight I've ever put on

Last year I bought a pair of Columbia blood and guts pants and they are great. Nice and light, dry quickly, tough and durable.

The Magellan zip-off pants have been great. They repel water alright, and dry very quickly. Plus they breathe, are affordable, and aren't hot at all.

I never leave home without um! ^^^ scared

I'm not much for making a fashion statement so I go cheap and what works.

If they have a fitting room try them on.
Most of these pants now are made in 3rd world countries where all the people are smaller stature than us Americans so they don't all jive with what the labels say.
If it's a little short it won't matter since you will have less in the water to get wet. Just carry a towel to cover your exposed skin.

LOL!! I usually end up buying these from LL Beane or Eddie Bauer or someplace like that so I get something that has a waist and inseam measurement.

Colombia PFG pants. They aren't real expensive and dry quickly. When its hot I splash water on them nd they are pretty effective and cooling me off. I believe they are SPF 30.

Funny story about those convertible pants. We were hiking with friends when Fred said "It's getting kind of hot, I might unzip my pants". The ladies weren't sure what he meant exactly.

I have a few of the Magellan I like fine.
