So I waited out the heat Saturday, didn't launch until 7:30pm after catching bait. Parked my yak right at the mouth of Rowlett creek in about 6-8 fow, right on the edge of the creek channel. Didn't take long for the first fish.

Got this bad boy in the first 15 minutes. It was the biggest fish of the day.



Enjoyed a nice sunset.



Bite was slow but consistent. After catching 5 blues, 2 of which were decent size, the gar moved in. First one swallowed the hook and made my kayak look a scene from Dexter.



Got this guy in the eyeball.



Here are the final results.



Ended up with 5 blues and 3 gar.

nah no snakes. Even if they did, I have experience handling snakes. It wouldn't concern me.

Gonna be back out there again this weekend, probably will be on the north end of the lake this time.
