KAYAKABLE LAKES IN THE DFW AREA
Many of our "regular haunts" are out of action due to our heavy recent rainfall. Here's a list of Lakes that have access.

Bachman Lake

White Rock Lake
http://www.dallasparks.org/235/White-Rock-Lake
Lake Ray Hubbard

If you live a little further north.....
Prosper Town Lake

Lake Bonham

Loy Lake

Waterloo Lake

East.........
Cedar Creek Lake

West........
Mariner Creek Lake

Lake Arlington

BE CAREFUL - lots of floating debris and underwater hazards can be found on all local lakes.
We'll have more suggestions as we gather more info.

BE CAREFUL and any body of water will offer new challenges and hazards after the kind of rainfall we've experienced. Use your best judgement and error on the side of caution.

SOUTH:

Lake Alvarado: Full One launch ramp in the park. Water stained, but not muddy.

Lake Pat Cleburne: Full Two Launch ramps: One on East shore by the Golf course/Country Club
One at the Hiway 67 Bridge, just over the bridge on the north Side.
Good access to Nolan River. Water stained, but fairly clear. All fish
had Lockjaw yesterday.

Cleburne State Park: Full One Launch ramp on West side. Haven't been there to check water. Call the State Park
Office, but they said last week the ramp was open.

Good Luck, IslandJim

North DFW - Grapevine Lake - Though this is only while the water is so high - Murrell Park - North Trail Head(note this is NOT the main Murrell Park entrance but a secondary entrance that is usually just for trail access and COE use) has been a perfect Kayak Launch spot the last few weeks. Gravel parking area. Distance to water will depend on the lake level.

Searsay, is that north trail head launch on Grapevine lake kind of across from Twin Coves Marina? Thinking about hitting it tomorrow evening

South Lake in Farmersville is accessible. Its been windy lately but when it wasn't so bad I saw a lot of people launching kayaks by the bridges in Lucas at Lake Lavon but use caution in that area lots of submerged timber.

Check that 2 ramps open on Lavon now! just checked. No wake on the lake now as well since they are still dredging.
Lavonia South and Twin Groves ramps open.

if cedar creek is on the list, lake athens should be ahead of it, imo.
