These are pretty hard to find in Texas, does anyone know much about them? I want a 13 footer, something I can put in the back of my truck and get to some hard to get waters. I think I like this idea better than a stand up kayak or nucanoe, just because I will be able to take my little boy along with me.

The Gheenoe boats are fantastic and popular down in Florida and other areas with skinny water to run over and around on. I think the closest dealer is in Alabama.

Hmm? Easy to spend someone else's money, but at least consider going up to the 15'4" model, the next one up in size and price. Then you'd have a 44" beam and a boat that would still have the basic "canoe" square stern shape and appearance. Beyond that, the stern widens out and, still nice boats for sure, but they morph into something else closer to a boat than a kayak/canoe.

I saw a recent fishing show on TV and two guys who normally fish offshore fished out of a friend's 15-4 Gheenoe and they did well, had a blast working back in the shallows.

I can stand all day in my Meyers Sportspal with its 38" beam and I'd imagine at 44", this model would be super stable for at least two fisherman and lots of gear, rigging options, etc.

As a matter of fact, this would be a very good alternative idea for someone wanting a Hobie 17T, the new large tandem out this year.

And, way cheaper.
