Went out there Friday afternoon. Was planning on night fishing for sandies but the storm came through way early so I had to get off the water right at dusk. But before the storm came in, I parked under a bridge and got a few crappie. Caught about 25 but a lot were small. Kept the 10 biggest. I left the fish biting like crazy, I would have gotten a limit within another hour or 2 if it weren't for that storm.

Very interesting. I am about to buy a battery for my 48 inch LED green light so I can do some night fishing from my Sea Eagle Boat. The question I have for you is do you see any gators in lake fork at night in your kayak? I figure Kayakers have some of the same issues I have. (Small boat, big bad potentially dangerous animal)
Been seeing some of the guides reporting on excellent Fishing at night on lake fork. Maybe I can interest some kayakers in fishing my green light. A second person is never a bad idea when night fishing.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

That was my first time on fork in over a decade and no I didn't see any.
Me personally, I am not concerned about gators. In college I fished at a small lake near Nacogdoches that had tons of gators in it. I would see 5-10 gators every time I would fish there. They aren't interested in people.

I fish fork at night somewhat often. Never ran into a gator.
Side note, I think a couple of us are going to fork Friday night. Moon should be out. Welcome to join I'd you want

I still fish Fork at night from the yak.
I've never been good, But I've been Lucky! I don't Lie or Exaggerate, but sometimes I remember BIG!
