Been interested in the Seadrift area for some time, I haven't read any posts about kayak fishing in the area.
Just wondering if there is a launch area and possible some areas to fish that are not such a long paddle.
I like to paddle and then wade fish.

Someone asked this question on TexasKayakFisherman Forum recently and the replies were: "Charlie's Bait Camp is to only option". I've never been there, but I'd certainly take their word for it. Good luck. IslandJim

The Cliburns launch on the Austin Kayak link isn't a public launch. If the goal is to fish Welder's Flats, then your only options are Charlie's Bait Camp or Swan Point.

Charlie's will give you great access to a lot of back water including Shoalwater bay which year in and year out holds great shallow water fishing for trout and reds.
Tight lines!
