Went out on Monday and challenged myself to use ten lures to try and catch ten fish. It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. I kept wanting to switch back to my confidence lures. Anyhow I hope y'all get some enjoyment out of the video.

Just an observation, not a criticism: You cast and reel with your right hand. For spinning tackle, a technical purist would split fingers on each side of the reel post (how many depends on how large your hand is) then leave the hand positioned there . . . constantly. You can then use your line grabbing finger to feather the line out on a cast, or stop it to control casting accuracy. That, and it is faster in the event you need to set the hook really fast on a taut line by using your reeling hand to flip the bail without having to switch hands.

There . . . a primer on spinning gear. I loved seeing how many presentations you chose the spinning reel for!

Brad R, I always get teased about my spinning handle being on the wrong side. I always blame it on my dad, he's a lefty and taught me this way. I guess he was lazy and didn't want to switch the handle to the other side or just didn't think about it. Either way it's a good conversation starter.

I do use my left hand to feather the line for accuracy though but sometimes trees and other stuff have a habit of moving on me.

It was this "leftie" who would pick up on something like that from a video, always interested in seeing how people manage their tackle.

But, as long as you are fast switching back and forth, you can as is seen in your videos, there isn't much downside.

Lots of right handers cast spinning gear with their right arms, then reel on the left side; but, they most often cast with their left and reel with their right hands with baitcasters.

Go figure.

I'm one of those weird right handers that casts with my right and reels with my left using spinning tackle, but when I'm using a baitcaster I cast with my right and reel with my right.

Oh, and nice video, Bullet. Looks like wherever you're fishing has some nice fall color starting to show on the trees! I am about to take my yak out in an hour or so. Wind is blowing like crazy, though.

I always cast right and reel left hand, regardless of tackle. Guess from my Dad, all his fishing tackle was left hand crank.
