I hadn't been in a while. Not since the remodel. Very nice. The parking lot is asphalt. They have two boat docks. Nice little ramp, not that I need it. Signs posted telling people not to swim around the launch area. Signs about the lake and what you can catch in it.
The water was it's usual semi-clear stained state. Usual level. It wasn't too hot or windy. Only a few fellow yakers out. This may be the day I catch a fish out of this place. Doh! Forgot my tackle box. And my phone. Oh, well. Can't text a fish anyway.
So there I am, with only one white Mr. Twisty on a white Roadrunner, and a plastic Zoom worm I found in the grass. And guess what! I finally caught a fish in Marine Creek Lake! A 10" or so bass.
That's it. A Mr. Twisty on a Roadrunner has been my go to for a long time. Today sealed it. Forget all that other tackle. A Mr. Twisty on a Roadrunner is where it's at. Okay, and maybe a Mepps french spinner type lure.

LOL. I feel your pain...Marine Creek is the closest lake to my home but I've never had any luck there. Your 10" bass is about as good as anything I've ever caught on that hard lake.

It's a crappie lake to fish in!
Actually, it's just difficult. I've read it has a lack of feeder fish and nutrients. Probably the larger fish in there feed off the smaller sunfishes, which are getting by on insects- mainly mayflies and mosquitoes.
Crappie are rumored to be by the rock dam and in the back by the creek.
