decided to go fish some backwaters for alligator gar since the main rivers i fish are all really high right now. ended up landing 3 alligator gar in just a few hours and losing a 7 foot monster from the kayak on a river that has no water body record for alligator gar on rod and reel. i caught first a 46 inch gar as a i got a double run and released it quickly after a few pics and then caught a 5 footer from the kayak who gave me a pretty good fight. just a few minutes after releasing these fish i caught a almost 140 pound alligator gar from the bank in an extremely intense fight that lasting 15 minutes or more with me stuck in the mud with a fish ripping out 30 yards of drags with it locked down with every push of its tail ![[Linked Image]](http://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/13246274_1081302555261124_2150090533863449702_o.jpg) look for up coming footage ..
