Is there any good places to fish from my kayak near Freeport preferably west of Freeport, looking to catch redfish, sheepshead, trout, jacks, mackerel, pretty much anything that puts up a good fight.

Launching at the boat ramp at the end of FM2918 offers a bunch of great kayaking waters like Cedar Lakes, Cowtrap Lake, and Jones Lake. Mostly redfish and black drum, but trout would be hanging out in the guts. Just be mindful of the tides as most of those lakes are fairly shallow.

That's a little out of the way from where I would like to go, but I might try it some time.

The only fishable water that I know of west of Freeport other than driving to the boat ramp at the end of 2918 would be Bryan Lake & Old Reservoir, but that's technically south of Freeport.
