I'm wondering how stable one of these kayaks would be? Have read some reviews and they sound pretty good, but I still feel like I need to hear more. I'm getting up in age, so weight and stability are the most important considerations for me.

I think the Angler 10 and the Redfish 10 are basically the same unit? Maybe the Angler is being replaced by the Redfish? Heritage only slows the Redfish on their website. Anyway, my question is just how stable are these units? If you have one please tell me what you think about it for an old man that wants his first kayak. Thanks.

I've had both. 1st the Redfish I got a sweet deal on ($200) but sold it to a yakless friend. I then just recently got the Heritage to use on ponds but sold it also for reasons explained later. Yes, they are basically the same kayak. Very light and fairly stable. Lots of legroom for my 6'1" body. Like all 10' kayaks, the tracking leaves something to be desired. The flat deck and seat area tend to make a wet ride occasionally. These boats have a tendency to crack around the scuppers from the seat area flexing so you need to insert foam inside to support your weight. The biggest problem I had with the boat was in windy conditions. It has no rocker so any breeze will spin you around like a top. Personally, I can't recommend this brand as there are other better choices on the market. I bought a Perception Sound Angler to replace it with and I'm overjoyed with this particular kayak when I want to paddle.
IMHO-DO NOT BUY A KAYAK BASED ON REVIEWS AND OTHER PEOPLE'S RECOMMENDATION (...I must be serious cause I shouted LOL). Borrow, rent or demo before you buy or you will be sorry.

I have paddled the Redfish 10. It tracks fairly well for a short yak, paddles easily and is quite stable. It was not windy the day we were paddling them. I owned a Redfish 14 a few years back and other than the weight it was an excellent kayak.
