Went to MW SP yesterday as it was to nice to sit at the house. Lake is stained and temp of water avg around 68. Was hoping to find the crappie but never did. Caught 3 bass between 12 and 14 inches on a roadrunner with green yum grub on it. Looks like the rocks are the only structure in the lake other than the water stations and fishing piers. They have the boat ramp blocked off with barricades. Was tough getting the mariner 12.5 to the water on the cart as there is pea gravel and fist size rocks you have to go over. Uphill was really tough after peddling the majority of the lake and being the first time in my yak this year...feeling it today...LOL!

I used to float tube it a lot and back in the day when the TFF float tube page was more active we had some tournaments out there. The park ranger joked that a well know local pro fisherman uses the lake to practice from to time to time and said he loved the lake. You only need 30 feet of line to fish it. All the fish are on the bank nd all you gotta do is flip a baby brush hawg at the bank and hit about every foot or so. Biggest I've caught out there was a 6.5 and luckily caught it during one of the tournies. We used to drag live wells behind us but they created so much drag most gave up on the tournaments.
Oh,the well known local pro was Weatherfords own Gary Klein

WOW! I was out there last week and it was like the first pic. I heard that it got 1.5 inches of rain. That's great!

Looks like Lake Mineral Wells went from 50.8% to 97.1% in the past week; Link.
