Just a note to advise you all that I and a few guys are kayak fishing the Colorado river @ Bastrop Monday April 20th. We are trying to arrange a shuttle but that doesn't keep us from fishing the river if those details can't be worked out beforehand. We plan to leave Bryan around 7am Monday morning and meet up at Fisherman's Park in Bastrop for a 9:30am launch. http://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/boat/paddlingtrails/inland/bastrop/This is a very easy & pleasant float/paddle and the fishing can be really good for guadalupe/spotted/largemouth bass, catfish and sunfish. Excellent opportunity to fly fish for feisty river bass with plenty of room.. Rain in the forecast might alter our plans. If the river rises or goes muddy we will redirect to Lake Bastrop or Buescher State Park http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/buescherhttp://www.cityofbastrop.org/default.aspx?name=parks.home

REDIRECT REDIRECT REDIRECT!!! Got the call Saturday noon that the Colorado river @ Smithville looked like chocolate milk.. I'm sure its the same in Bastrop. I'm going straight to Buescher State park from Bryan..
