I made some vinyl stickers for my wife's new PA 14 tonight. Don't know why she wanted an ugly lantern fish but it came out good.

Do you guys clean the kayak with denatured alcohol first? Has anyone done this...wondering if it needs something over the top of it.

Thanks Tim

I've done this--
Prep by cleaning with soap and water, dry, rub clean with denatured alcohol, then prep the area with 100 to 200 grit sandpaper. Rub clean again with denatured alcohol. Apply the vinyl sicker. I then spray a one layer coat of Krylon Plastic Fusion Clear UV protectant over the sticker.

Where did you get your vinyl sticker printer paper?--it looks to be better quality than the ones I found at Wmart

I got it at a sign and print center near downtown Dallas.

What's the purpose of sanding it? BTW, the Hobie is slick plastic on the sides.

Is that Krylon a HD or Lowe's item?

I finished mine last night too.

Thanks for the help.

Tim

Thanks for the info.
You don't have to sand it, but doing so does help with adhesion to polyethylene.
Krylon plastic fusion Clear UV is available at Wmart and Home Depot. Again, not a necessary step, but does help prevent fading and yellowing due to UV.
