I have a full week off next week and looking to get the bass hunter out EVERYDAY. With the forecast thinking maybe going under a bridge for the first time. I typically stick to creeks and coves. What wind speed typically keeps you off the water and how do you tie up? Anchor or tie up to a piling? Advise on this would be greatly appreciated

I'd recommend only taking it out in conditions you feel comfortable in; things I would consider are water depth, boat traffic, length of trip (distance and time), etc. It will always pay to error on the side of caution. I take my Pond Prowler out in just about any wind speed, under white caps, because I feel relatively comfortable that I can control any situation I'd end up in. Also, a huge help to me is my Power Pole Micro Anchor--although I am limited on its capabilities in deeper water, I just control my boat positioning more in windy conditions. I would venture to guess that tying up to a piling would be far easier than fussing with a traditional anchor, but would love to hear what others have to say on the matter! Either way, having a whole week off and planning to spend it fishing sounds awesome; I hope you have a great time!

Creeks, coves and protected river sections are best for me with high wind. Waves and wind can make for an uncomfortable park or ride on the open water above 10mph. Generally, the power of wind increases by 8X when the wind speed doubles. For open water, I launch into the wind and follow the most protected shore line, then troll on the wind assisted drift back rather than endure the wet pounding. I'm not able to hold position unless I use 2 separated anchor points, to stop swinging. But I haven't tried strapping directly to a piling- would that be safe in high waves?
