I found this trip to be very hot and very slow fishing. The water surface is 88 to 90 degrees depending on which end of lake like always. Water was stained a little more so than normal. There was no wind, flat calm water which is bad on all lakes to fish. So I can tell you that there were very few up shallow, but I'm sure that has todo with water temp. Out in 12 to 18 feet is where we found a better bite, plus we found some in the timber holding tight to structure. Over all day wasn't to bad, we boated somewhere around 30 bass, nothing over three pounds. We fished with plastic, cranks and top water baits. Caught the most on T/R plastic.
It was so hot that you had to pick up and take short boat rides to cool off. It was horrible hot most of the day.

I feel your pain...we went Tuesday & it was calm & hot then as well. Our bite was almost identical to yours, except we spent a cpuple hours fishing for bluegill & did real good on that species...

Thanks for the warning. Heading out there next week. It sounds like I will have to bite the bullet and fish deeper. It makes it more interesting when I am throwing at things not just open water.

Early morning bite has been great for everyone I've talked to that got there as the sun was coming up. Heck I didn't get there till about 12:30 pm. It might have been closer to 1 pm.
