Launched from Cypress Creek Park. Launched at 0730. First time to ever fish Travis. 2 for 10 lbs, 5 for 15 lbs.

*Cypress Creek Branch* Water Temp 53.5 at 0830
-Fished my way out on the south bank hitting secondary points and ledges. 2 fish (4.69lbs 15FOW/1.5lbs 8FOW) on each secondary point directly south of Indian Point using a 1/2oz flipping jig (blk/blue) w/ blue fleck SK Rodent trailer.
-Broke off two jigs (one hung/one giant) fishing trees just above Comanche Village.

*Windy Point (Really the name, not being a smarta**)* Water Temp 55 at 1100
-Fished the ledge that transitions to the hazard area (wind NW 14mph) so focused on the west side of the hazard area, one fish only (5.11lbs 8FOW) fishing 1/2oz flipping (Green Pumpkin Brwn/Prpl w/ Zoom Speed Craw Trailer)

*Dam (Rocks and Brush)* Water Temp 56.3 at 1300
-Point on the eastern shore between dam and floating science experiment, 1 fish (2.0lbs 8FOW) same jig as above

*Starnes Island (Southern Ledge)* Water Temp 55 1400
-flipping to 2FOW and popping out to 12FOW, one fish (1.75 lbs), on the point of course.... same jig of course of course

*Ledge between Devil's Hollow and Mossy Hollow*
-I COULD SPEND A DAY HERE THIS TIME OF YEAR!! By this time I had my best 5 for right at 15 so I switched up after I caught a few dinks on the same old jig, just to try something new. I ran from the point at Devil's Hollow to the power lines. Half of it I backed off 30-40 yds and cast a 1oz. football jig at a 45 degree angle to the ledges and worked them down. The right sections will have drops from 12-15, 15-20, 20- 25/28ish. NOTHING...maybe a trailer that can slow the fall would be a little more productive. Jerkbait only brought about one follower and I missed him during his quick attempt, gotta work on presentation. By the time I reached the power line it was 1530 and meeting up with club members at 1600.... so why not mess around with the drop shot. 3 fish in 10 minutes (2 dinks 15-20FOW landed, something kickerish in 40 FOW came off).

If any of y'all happen to go, run the spots and see what type of pattern pans out. Let me know if you need any more info, but don't think I left anything out.

TIGHT LINES!!!!
-Mike

Excellent report Mike! I moved to Jonestown from the Dallas area recently and am just now trying to figure out this crazy lake. I've only fished out of the Jonestown public lake and within a half mile of the ramp. Caught plenty of dinks, but nothing over 3 pounds yet. If you ever need a back seat pm me. Love to learn more about the deep water mystery! Randy

Randy, I'll definitely hit you up next tonne I'm down in the area. I am planning on hitting up that hollow where Jonestown is at so you wouldn't have to drive far. PM me your number and you'll be the first call I make if I have a back seat open.
