We had to take my visiting Mother to the airport, so we got a late start on the water at 10:00am. The water was somewhat muddy but it was definitely Chamber of Commerce weather. Started out on the river at the entrance to the triangle pond. My Wife caught a 1-pounder on her little crank bait, so I thought we were off to a good start. About 30 minutes later, she caught a very small white bass and I caught a 1 1/2 pound LMB on a lipless. That would be the last bite of the day. We headed to the Sulphur Cut but didn't get a bite. Water temperature was a decent 63 degrees and muddy. No movement. We saw at least 8 alligators, which is more than we normally do. They must have eaten all of the bass because we couldn't get bit whatsoever. I felt like this was going to just be one of those days, packed things up and head back to the ramp.

Did I mention it was a beautiful day?

Be safe,
