Hadn't been in several months, and it has changed (not for the better). Had a nice day, some clouds, some sun, some wind, water about temp around 78 degree. Used top water (usually great there this time of year), crank baits, spinner bait, jigging spoon, CR lizard, and gitzit. Caught 5 puny bass, and didn't see or talk to anyone who were doing any good. Not nearly as much eel grass as usual and most of it was brown and looking bad. Did find some deep hydrilla, but no fish present. Checked my depth finder all day in different depths and areas and didn't see any bait fish or fish to speak of. Maybe it is just me, but it just doesn't seem to be the same old slot machine it used to be.

Sadly, it's just you. The lake is in terrific shape! If you don't believe me, just ask the power plant officials. Just because you have to use an extension ladder to get in and out of your boat at the courtesy docks; no problem! Bastrop is a "constant level lake" you know.
