Maybe some of them Toledo Bend bass have moved down the Sabine river...two friends of mine made a trip to the river recently and both caught a bass over 6 lbs including losing one at the boat estimated at 8-10 lbs. They told me exactly where they caught their bass and suggested I give it a try. So I made a trip one morning and boated one nearly 6 (5.14) and another around 2.5 lbs. These fish are off the main river above the bridge hitting buzz baits.

About 7 -8 years ago, I got to go on a tour with my bosses dad, who worked for the Sabine River Authority and he took me right below the dam to show me multiple double digit bass and monster stripers that live right at the foot of the damn. I told him I would give my next paycheck to make 5 casts into that area I saw bass that had to be share lunkers and stripers that are the stuff dreams are made of. When they are releasing slow, like they are now, you can go to the damn with a set of binoculars and see exactly what I saw. Man, to drop a go pro down in there for a few minutes would be incredible. Thanks for the report. Peace and Bent Rods HuknBull67
