Fished this past Saturday and it was very hot weather wise. Fishing was slow in the morning but picked up a bit after noon. My best 5 went a little over 20 pounds with a 6.62 big fish.

We were out there. Biggest went 6.3 and had a better morning bite. Once cloud cover broke and it got toasty we couldn't get on a strong bite.

I could only catch up to 15 " fish in the morning. Caught my two biggest back to back at about 1pm.

Our strongest bite came from around the intake.

Top waters at first light then c-rigged speed craws rest of the morning

We've been frogging the pads since late April with little results out there, glad to see someone's able to catch em!

I know the posted times on the web site are 6am to 6pm. Do they run you off the lake or lock the gates @ 6pm? Never been there but I'm trying to plan a trip.... Thanks for the info

No, you can stay as long as you like. Just no one else can come in. The gate going out has those spikes sticking up so you can go out, but can't come back in. The attendant in the gatehouse told me you can stay into the night if you like.

My best baits out there have always been T-rigged plastics in watermelon colors. I have been having some good luck on a Skinny Dipper rigged with an Owner screw lock swimbait hook in Houdini color. Worked over submerged grasses and on the breaks in the cover.

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

In a world of compromise.....Some don't.
