Hello all, i am a regular kayak fisherman in central Texas, getting bored with all the hot girls paddle boarding and great fishing on Town lake. Looking into hitting up either Rayburn or Toledo bend in mid Aug (13-18) time frame. I am not familiar with either lake, any advise for a kayaker would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Kayak with the high water would be fun on Rayburn. And Very north end of Toledo would be fun too.

You didn't say anything about fishing, both lakes are great for that. TB has docks and Rayburn doesn't. So one is more natural looking and the other has great bass/crappie cover to fish. ??? Rayburn is currently 2.5' over pool.
The fishing is pretty good right now. I am partial to Rayburn.

I think Powell Park is a great place to camp or Rayburn park. Five Fingers is out of the wind and has great fishing too and is free to launch.

But for some shade the 147 bridge would be cool.

Best Kayak lake is Bastrop can fish all the coves next to the boat ramp and load up in fish. But like BMCD said with the high water both lakes would be fun.

Hello Grant2, agreed, Bastrop is a fun lake, fished it many a time. Never even scene either Rayburn or the Bend, i guess now is as good a time as any to go check Rayburn out. Thanks all for the info
