Late on my report, but I'll keep it short. A neighbor and I fished from noon to 5 pm and managed to put 24 bass in the boat. We threw a bunch of different baits, plus we fished the timber area with no luck, as well as no luck with other baits other than our plastic. Caught everything on T/R plastic in 12 to 15 FOW. Nothing big, a few in the three pound range, but the rest were in the mid to heavy two pound range. Even though I didn't get the rod bend action I was looking for, it was a nice day to be out and catching a few. Have a great day, I'll post up my next report soon.

Hey Wes H, after this rain we just received and the cooler weather, look for a shallow bite. They should be holding and feeding this area right now. I simple hit it on a blue bird sky day and the fish had lock jaw.
Good luck and have fun, the bite should be getting better by the day.

It should be real good here pretty soon Jamie. I have talked to few guys who fish this lake several times a week and one of them is on a good shallow water bite. But me, heck I'm still having some issues with this new knee thing, it doesn't want to heal up as quick as I think it should be. It can be frustrating at times, but it is what it is, I just go with the flow and make a trip when my knee feels like it can handle a five to eight hour trip. Right now, five hours on the water is a good day for me. I really do miss those twelve to sixteen hour trips. Those kind a hours will allow one to dial in this lake and hammer put the hurt on some fish.

Looks like a cold and rainy weekend. Should be a fun one to find some fish. If anyone else has any tips, let me know!

I was out there this weekend and found them deep, 15-20 FOW. The afternoon was by far the best time for me.

Better get that knee is shape soon. I expect a few white bass will start showing up in the Yegua in a couple weeks or so.

Today (11/30) was tough. After a couple days of strong southerly winds it flipped and blew hard from the north. Big rollers and white caps for much of the day made it no fun to fish offshore. We managed only a few and fished everything from 1' to 22'. Had to hunker down along protected shorelines and trees for much of the day.

I had not been to Fayette since August - what's up with strange grass? The stuff is wiry looking and not very healthy - dying milfoil or what?

If its the grass I think you are talking about, it's over in Johnny cove. I have no clue what it is called, but the bass get in it. Seems like I've heard that grass called spider grass. Reminds me of grandaddy long leg spider legs.

It's a different grass than the spiny naiad. There is about four different types of grass out there right now, you just have to know where it is and look hard for it. There isn't much in most areas.
