Can anyone tell me if the shad have begun their spawn at Livingston? I'm ready to head that way at the end of April. They seemed to start late last year. I was there around Apr. 22nd last year. The blues weren't there as they were 2 years before at that time. Spring and other things seem to have started early this year. I'm hoping the shad and cats do too.

appreciate any info.

The shad spawn is on! North end to mid lake south end should start this week sometime.

I appreciate that info. I'm headed that way in two weeks. We normally camp and fish the banks on Wolf Creek Park. It is beautiful there this time of year.

My Dad has a friend whose parents used to live on Livingston and fish for living. The had numerous trot lines, and would let us know about the catfishing. unfortunately his father passed away and his mother moved.

thanks again for the info.

tight lines!

thanks again. i can hardly wait. I hope the weather holds up. I can fish in the rain but not with the lightning. i think we're gonna "hotel" our stay this time. we usually camp but I didn't make the reservations in time.

Any suggestions for decent hotels, motels near Coldsprings - Onalaska - Pointblank? I guess Huntsville hotels wouldn't be out of the question. I think there is a state park nearby? I wonder if they have cabins available?

tight lines all!

Hotels, your best bet would be to stay in Livingston most likely, you are still very close to multiple boat ramps, hole wise I would fish bulkheads on the main lake points from FM 2457 ramp south lots of fish right now in with the shad just have to move till you find one holding fish.
There is one hotel in onalaska it is at pontoons on the lake if your looking to stay on the water
