A friend of mine has a pond in front of his house in North Dallas. He hired a contractor to start cleaning out all the silt and the guy is making it worse! Anybody know of a good contractor experienced in this?

How is he making it worse?

BTW, unless the pond is dry, I can't think of any way to remove wet goo from the bottom without making a mess.

I had the same question. I've done a couple of them myself and agree with Dave that stuff makes a mess.

I came up with a technique on mine of pushing the stuff into a ring lined with clay to form an island that ideally would be submerged at full pool. Its one way to make something fishy out of the otherwise messy stuff. Turned out great.
