Hi!

I am looking for a place to fish with my kids. I was looking at Arthur Storey Park in Houston. Has anybody ever fished there?
If anybody has an idea where to go with a five year old, any ideas are appreciated.

I have never fished there but i am sure there are some cat fish in there. I have seen alot of nice size cat fish, carp and koi swimming around in the bayou that feeds the pond. I have watch some of my neighbors catching cats. There are 2 sewer plants above the pond that discharge into the bayou so would not eat anything i caught but have fun.

Did you go yet? To my best understanding, there is no fishing in allowed on the park lake, but you can fish the bayou that borders the west end of the park. Never fished it but heard that there are at least catfish and carp in there.
Good luck and let us know how you did!

Hi, I am visiting Houston at the end of May, I will post about it.

I had a look at the park rules, they don't say anything about fishing. But the bayou is a great backup plan!

You might try Tom Bass park in Houston, but be careful what you catch.....

I office just up the Beltway from Arthur Storey Park. Been twice, briefly. No luck with artificials or worms.

Will not give up on it, do believe there are some fish in there.

May also give Bishop Fiorenza park on Eldridge a try.

That pond is 6 - 8 ft. over the bank on the bayou side today. It will take a few days if not week to get back to normal.

Hi,

I wrote an email asking about the regulations on fishing in the park.

This is the reply:

Quote:
We do not allow fishing in the pond that is behind the gazebo but we do allow fishing in the bayou. You would need to have a fishing license and all Texas Parks and Wildlife rules apply.

Looking at the aerial view. The gazebo is right next to what appears to be a small concreted pond. That would mean that everything else(the big body of water) is available for fishing, right?

I don't think so. There are signs posted about every 30-50 yds or so. They don't say no fishing but something of the sort that to stay out of the water-conservation area, or something like that. I have drove past that park numerous times on weekends and have never seen anyone fishing in the main lake.

It can't hurt to reply back to the person and ask to clarify which lake they are referring to.
