Does anyone know of any small lakes or tanks in the Waco area that are publicly accessible to go fishing in? Or maybe golf courses that they let you fish in this area?

There is a community lake in Belmead. It gets stocked with catfish over the summer, trout (I think) in the winter. Corner of Hermosa and Post Oak. TPWD has a schedule for the stocking. Cottonwood and Twin Rivers have ponds but I have no idea if you can fish them. Ask, worst they can do is say no.

There either is or used to be a large tank on the east side of Hwy-77 just south of Waco that has or had a "Fishing" sign by the highway. THere's a price listsed on the sign and a locked metal box for deposit. Not sure if it's still public or not, haven't been that way in a while.
