Don't worry, the ole girl will be just fine. My lower unit feels better when she's at full pool or over and it gives all the bank beaters more stuff to target.

Looking at the levels that are all over the place the last several days I would have to guess that there is a problem with the gauge or that the strong north winds that hit the lake on Friday and Saturday evenings gave some inaccurate readings. There has not been any rain in the area until today and Rayburn is too big to rise and fall that much in a day.

Sam Rayburn is known to rise and fall quickly It's all relative, I guess. Amistad and Falcon can just think about farting and lose 5 ft.

I considered gauge misreading however two trips and conversations with lake property owners, not the gauge.

I spoke with the corp office at the dam yesterday. It is indeed an issue with their gauge. Rayburn does not fluctuate that rapidly without a very significant amount of rainfall.
